Seventeen candidates from six countries, and a winner who will be revealed only during the final evening. On Thursday, 24 September, at 9 p.m., the Titano Theatre in San Marino will host the concluding event of the Emma Rossi International Prize, this year dedicated to “Women who change the world.”
The 2026 edition is linked to the 70th anniversary of the law that established San Marino’s mandatory social security system and its universal, free public healthcare system. For this reason, the nominations were focused on the fields of healthcare, social-healthcare and humanitarian assistance, and scientific research.
The 17 candidates, presented last March, were put forward by San Marino and Italian associations, consular and diplomatic representatives, the University of San Marino, and individual citizens. The nominations come from Italy, Argentina, Gaza, Great Britain, Congo and San Marino.
The jury, chaired by the rector of Rome’s La Sapienza University, Antonella Polimeni, has already chosen the winner, who will be awarded a prize of 5,000 euros.
The name will be announced on 24 September. The winner will be present at the Titano Theatre and, following the announcement, will deliver a lectio magistralis.
