A serious road accident occurred late this morning, Saturday 24 October, in Mulazzano di Coriano, where a young man born in 2008 was injured after losing control of a microcar bearing a San Marino license plate.
The accident happened around 12.30pm along via Ranco. The young man was driving downhill, heading towards Strada del Marano, when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a left-hand bend.
Paramedics from the 118 emergency service and officers from the Municipal Police arrived at the scene. The severity of the young man’s condition made it necessary to call in the air ambulance.
The young man, who suffered multiple injuries, was airlifted to the hospital in Cesena.
The road in question is also widely used by San Marino drivers, as it connects the areas of Faetano and Montegiardino with Torraccia and Falciano.
The Municipal Police are reconstructing the dynamics of the accident. Initial findings suggest that the microcar went off the road on its own, with no other vehicles involved.
