A goal from Yuri Rossi deep into stoppage time hands Faetano the win over Fiorentino. The opening match of the sixth round of the Sammarinese Futsal Championship ends 2-1: three points that lift Matteo Selva’s side to provisional fifth place.
The match is unlocked in the 29th minute by Taddei, putting the yellow-and-blues ahead. Faetano go into the break in front, but in the second half Fiorentino step up the pressure and manage to level the score. In the 45th minute Alessandro Michelotti makes it 1-1, restoring parity.
The contest remains open until the closing stages. With two minutes left, Fiorentino coach Antonio D’Amico is sent off. Just as the two sides appear set to share the points, Rossi finds the net that decides the match.
Fiorentino thus suffer defeat after clawing their way back into the game. It was the last match the red-and-blues had to face without Gianluca Michelotti, the goalkeeper suspended following his sending-off in the second round.
Faetano, meanwhile, can watch the rest of the results unfold with three extra points in the bank. The sixth round continues this evening with five more matches, ahead of the final fixtures scheduled for Wednesday night.
