Violence that spreads through social media and its consequences on people’s lives will be at the center of “Digitale è reale” (“Digital is real”), the international conference promoted by the Equal Opportunities Authority of San Marino, scheduled for October 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Kursaal Congress Centre.
The event will bring together experts, professionals and young people to address the issue of online violence, with a focus on awareness and prevention. The title captures the day’s starting point: what happens through a screen can have very real consequences on the lives of those who experience it.
Among the speakers will be Maria Andriani Kostopoulou, president of the Council of Europe’s GREVIO, and Bertil Cottier, president of the Council of Europe’s ECRI. The program also includes contributions from psychologist and psychotherapist Gregorio Mazzonis and from Antonella Brighi, professor at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.
The Carolina Foundation will share Carolina’s story through memory and testimony, recounting its commitment to building awareness and prevention.
The day will also make room for dialogue between generations. The round table “Voices in dialogue: an intergenerational conversation” will feature young people from San Marino, moderated by journalist Giovanna Bartolucci.
The conference is sponsored by the Secretariats of State for Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Education and Culture, Health and Social Security, and Justice. Supporting the initiative are the Order of Psychologists of the Republic of San Marino, the Bar and Notaries Association, and Imperfetto Bar & Cucina.
Credits for healthcare professionals, social-healthcare workers and lawyers will be available. Admission is free, with mandatory registration: to sign up, email segreteria@trends.srl or call 334 8969887.
