First smoke, then flames that engulfed the van within moments. A frightening moment occurred this morning, shortly before 8:30 a.m., along via 5 Febbraio, on the Superstrada in Fiorina di Domagnano, where a commercial vehicle caught fire while driving.
The driver, a man of about 60, noticed the problem in time and managed to pull over and get out of the vehicle before the fire spread further. According to initial findings, the blaze appears to have started in the engine compartment before spreading to the rest of the vehicle.
Officers from the Fire Prevention Section of the Civil Police responded to the scene, extinguishing the flames and securing the area.
During the operation, traffic was temporarily halted, causing inevitable disruption along the Superstrada.
