Matchday seven of the San Marino futsal championship brings several fixtures with major implications for the standings, headlined by the clash between Pennarossa and Cailungo — a top-versus-bottom encounter pitting the still-unbeaten league leaders against the only side yet to register a win.
The round opens on Monday with five matches. In Fiorentino, Cosmos — coming off their first defeat of the season against Juvenes Dogana — will look to get back on track against a Fiorentino side that has lost its last three games and will be without coach Antonio D’Amico, suspended for one match.
Also in Fiorentino, Tre Fiori will aim to bounce back from a heavy defeat to Libertas when they face Faetano, who arrive on the back of a win.
Two intriguing fixtures are also on the schedule in Domagnano, where at 8:15pm Libertas — level on points with Cosmos in fourth place — will take on a Folgore side seeking consistency after their loss to Pennarossa.
Next up are Juvenes Dogana and Murata, both coming off victories. The Bianconeri, without suspended captain Mattioli, could climb to second place by taking advantage of La Fiorita’s bye week. Juvenes, after ending Cosmos’ unbeaten run, are instead looking to consolidate their play-off position.
At 10pm, at the Multieventi, Domagnano and Tre Penne will close out Monday’s programme. The Lupi are chasing points to defend their place in the standings, while Tre Penne want to build on their first win of the season, achieved against Libertas.
On Tuesday at 10pm, at the Palestra di Acquaviva, Pennarossa will face Cailungo. The league leaders have won every match so far and boast the competition’s best defence, having conceded just six goals. The situation is reversed for Cailungo, bottom of the table having shipped 23 goals and scored only four in six games.
On Wednesday at 10pm, at the Multieventi, San Giovanni and Virtus will round out matchday seven. San Giovanni come into the game off their first win of the season, secured in the derby against Cailungo, while Virtus have not won since matchday three and have picked up just one point in their last three outings.
Michelotti’s side currently sit tenth with five points, two more than San Giovanni, who are second from bottom alongside Tre Penne.
