A public discussion to examine the Association Agreement between San Marino and the European Union, signed on 19 October in Brussels.

A debate open to the public to explore the contents of the Association Agreement between San Marino and the European Union, following its signing on 19 October in Brussels. The event is organised by the CSdL on Thursday 29 October, starting at 9.00 a.m., at the Sala Montelupo in Domagnano, as part of the General Assembly of union delegates and representatives.

“EU Association Agreement: a milestone achieved” is the title of the meeting, convened by the trade union to mark the signing and discuss the implications of the deal. The discussion will focus on the “Opportunities and potential risks of the free movement of people, goods, services and capital,” with the audience given the chance to put questions to the speakers.

The programme will open at 9.00 a.m. with an introduction by Michele Chiaruzzi, director of the Research Centre for International Relations at the University of San Marino.

At 9.25, Rector Paolo Pascucci will speak on “The effects of the Agreement on the University and the labour market.” This will be followed, at 9.50, by a contribution from Eleonora Giannotti, focusing on “The experience of a Sammarinese citizen working abroad.”

From 10.00, the discussion will continue with a round table featuring Luca Beccari, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Antonella Mularoni, councillor for Repubblica Futura and former Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and Enzo Merlini, Secretary General of the CSdL.

At 11.15, the floor will open for questions to the speakers. The proceedings will be coordinated by Mauro Torresi, a journalist with San Marino RTV.

“The CSdL invites all citizens to take part in this initiative for in-depth discussion and debate on a development of such historic significance for San Marino,” the statement concludes.
