The Società Unione Mutuo Soccorso di San Marino (SUMS) is renewing its support for the education of young Sammarinese for 2026. Meritamente, the competition now in its eighth edition, is back, designed to provide financial backing for high-level study and specialisation paths, both in Italy and abroad.
The initiative is open to young residents of the Republic of San Marino aged 35 or under, who hold a degree, a conservatory diploma or an equivalent qualification obtained from Sammarinese or foreign academic institutions, and who have achieved outstanding academic results. “Through the Meritamente competition, SUMS aims to provide financial support for excellent educational projects, including specialisation courses, master’s programmes, advanced training courses and internships at prestigious academic institutions,” the statement reads.
The goal is to help young people who wish to continue their education after obtaining their qualification, focusing on experiences that can enhance skills and professional preparation. “With this new edition, SUMS confirms its commitment to investing in young people, merit and education, supporting growth paths that can contribute to developing the skills and professions of the future,” the statement continues.
Applications are open until the end of October. “Applications, complete with the documentation required by the regulations, must be submitted at the offices of the Società Unione Mutuo Soccorso by no later than 12:00 on Thursday, 29 October 2026.” The regulations and application forms are available in the dedicated section of the SUMS website.
