He was seen wandering near the bus terminal platform with a knife in his hand, in full view of passengers waiting for their buses to arrive. The dangerous situation prompted a call to the 112 emergency line and the immediate response of carabinieri from the San Leo station.
Once again placed under arrest was a 31-year-old man of Pakistani origin, homeless and already known to law enforcement, who was detained on charges of illegal possession of weapons or objects capable of causing harm.
The alarm came from the bus terminal. According to the carabinieri’s account, when officers arrived on scene, they immediately spotted the 31-year-old moving near the platform while brandishing a knife, as several people waited nearby for their buses.
The carabinieri intervened, disarming and restraining him, and managed to secure the area without any harm to those present. The knife was seized and turned over to the judicial authorities.
For the 31-year-old, however, this was not his first arrest in just a matter of days. On August 28, he had already been apprehended by carabinieri from the Novafeltria mobile unit after being caught inside a home’s garage attempting to steal materials.
During that incident, officers had also found him in possession of a burglary tool and a folding knife, both of which were seized. The stolen goods were recovered and returned to the owner. Following that arrest, the 31-year-old had been sentenced to one year and nine months in prison, with the sentence suspended.
Just days later, then, came this new incident. This time the man was arrested in the act for illegal possession of weapons or objects capable of causing harm. On orders from the Rimini Public Prosecutor’s Office, he was held in the carabinieri’s holding cells, awaiting a fast-track trial scheduled for this morning.
