A highway without roundabouts, new opportunities for Rimini’s Fellini airport and a stable solution for cross-border workers. These are some of the prospects that the association agreement between San Marino and the European Union could open up for the Rimini area as well.
Pointing to these priorities is Jamil Sadegholvaad, president of the Province of Rimini, who is urging local authorities to seize on the historic agreement to strengthen ties between the Titano and the Riviera.
Among the issues on the table are improving road connections, developing the Federico Fellini international airport, and organising major joint events, with potential benefits for tourism and the local economy.
Particular attention is also being paid to cross-border workers, for whom Sadegholvaad hopes a definitive solution can be found to outstanding issues.
The goal is to turn the European agreement into concrete projects and new growth opportunities for both territories, reinforcing a partnership that involves businesses, workers and institutions on a daily basis.
