After the defeat in Arezzo, San Marino Academy’s women’s team are seeking redemption in their first home game of the Serie B season. On Sunday, Res Donna Roma — a side considerably strengthened during the summer transfer window — will visit Acquaviva.
Previewing the match is vice-captain Giulia Limardi. “There’s no doubt that Res is a team built to try to win the league,” explains the White and Blue goalkeeper. The Titans, however, are determined to react immediately: “We have an enormous desire for redemption, especially in front of our home crowd.”
The defeat in Arezzo, suffered despite playing with a numerical advantage, left some clear lessons. “We need to improve above all in how we manage the different phases of the match,” Limardi stresses, recalling how a single episode changed the course of the game.
Confidence in the squad remains high despite a deeply renewed roster: “In training I can clearly see the potential this group has. We need to find the right key to bring it out fully.”
San Marino Academy vs Res Donna Roma will be played on Sunday at the Acquaviva stadium, with kick-off at 3pm.
