Yesterday a 16-year-old San Marino boy was taken to the emergency room following a collision between his scooter and a car, which occurred shortly before 3pm in Acquaviva.
According to initial reports, the young man was riding downhill along Strada delle Moricce, heading towards Gualdicciolo, when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. The scooter hit the asphalt and continued sliding, crossing into the opposite lane.
At that moment, a Volkswagen Golf with San Marino plates, driven by a woman, was approaching from the opposite direction and was unable to avoid the impact. After the collision, the scooter came to a stop at the side of the road.
Emergency medical personnel from 118 responded to the scene and transported the minor, who remained conscious throughout, to the emergency room. The driver of the car was unharmed.
The investigation has been entrusted to the Civil Police (Polizia Civile), while the Gendarmerie assisted with traffic management. During the rescue operations and subsequent inspections, the road remained open to traffic on an alternating one-way basis.
