Nicole Conti and Jappeloup closed out the Mediterranean Games in Taranto 2026 in 22nd place. A result that, above all, marks San Marino’s return to equestrian competition at the Games after a 21-year absence.
At the Horse Club Terra Jonica, Conti went head to head with internationally ranked pairs, tackling technically demanding courses and managing to secure a place in the final.
The experience marks a starting point for San Marino’s equestrian movement and for the continued growth of the Conti-Jappeloup partnership. The San Marino Equestrian Federation expressed its satisfaction with the result and with the way the athlete represented the Titano throughout the competition.
The Federation also thanked the San Marino National Olympic Committee, the Technical Commission and the staff who oversaw the athlete’s preparation, including technical director Antonio Tabarini, veterinarian Matteo Gambelli and sports psychologist Elena Giulia Montorsi, as well as the young rider’s family.
With Nicole Conti’s 22nd-place finish, San Marino has thus reclaimed a place in Mediterranean equestrian sport after more than two decades away from the competition.
