Stadium security: San Marino attends UEFA summit in Madrid

San Marino delegation joins UEFA Safety & Security Conference to discuss stadium security and crowd management ahead of Nations League fixtures.

San Marino also took part in the UEFA Safety & Security Conference, an event dedicated to safety and the organisation of international football competitions, held in Madrid on 1 and 2 September.

The San Marino Football Federation was represented by Michele Raschi and Andrea Zoppis, together with Captain Gabriele Gatti and Warrant Officer Gianluca Menicucci of the Gendarmerie Corps.

Over the two days, delegates explored various aspects of crowd management, stadium security and coordination between public and private bodies. Attention was also given to an analysis of incidents that have occurred at international competitions over the past five years, including specific cases involving Bologna FC and Crystal Palace.

Other topics discussed included new safety regulations, health standards for spectators and the possibility of setting up standing areas within stadiums. Particular focus was placed on communication and the timely sharing of information among all parties involved in organising matches.

Finally, the San Marino delegation met with representatives from Albania, Belarus and Finland to begin coordinating organisational and security arrangements for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.
