The San Marino Special Cup reaches its tenth edition, marked by ten teams ready to take to the field. The event is set for Saturday and Sunday on the synthetic pitch at Montecchio, the tournament’s sole venue, organised through the collaboration between the FSGC (San Marino Football Federation) and the Federazione Sammarinese Sport Speciali (San Marino Special Sports Federation).
This year the tournament regains an international dimension thanks to the participation of Special Olympics Monaco. On Saturday at 12pm, San Marino will face the team from the Principality, with the Captains Regent set to give the ceremonial kick-off.
Rounding out the lineup are Albano Primavera, Associazione Fuorigioco ODV, ASD Calcio Veneto, Insuperabili, Sportinsieme Castellarano, ASD Sport “in” Veneto, Samba Rimini and Parma Special.
The format calls for five-a-side matches. On Saturday, from 9am to 6pm with a lunch break, teams will play a round-robin group stage to determine the pairings for the finals. Sunday’s action begins at 9am, with the tournament concluding at 12.30pm.
During the presentation, presidents Marco Tura and Filiberto Felici highlighted the growth of the event and the ongoing collaboration between the two federations. Entry to the stands at Montecchio will be free for both days.
