San Marino will celebrate Andrea Kimi Antonelli with an event dedicated to the new Formula 1 world champion. The announcement comes from the Secretariat of State for Sport, which is marking the title won by the twenty-year-old in only his second season in the sport’s top category.
The event will give fans and residents the chance to meet the driver and celebrate his success. A date and programme have not yet been announced.
Secretary of State Rossano Fabbri recalled his first meeting with Antonelli: “I think back to when I first met him, when he wasn’t even an adult yet: even then I said he was destined for great things, and yet today even I have to admit he has achieved this in a way that was simply unimaginable.”
For Fabbri, the result is also a tribute to the driver’s personal qualities and the support of his family. “The combination of human and technical qualities I noticed that day is the same combination that has now taken him to the top of the world, confirming the strength of a journey built on sound, healthy family values.”
The Secretariat underlined the significance of a title that makes Antonelli the youngest world champion in Formula 1 history. “The Republic of San Marino applauds this extraordinary achievement and salutes a feat that will remain indelible,” Fabbri concluded.
