Children, families, volunteers and associations filled Dogana’s Parco Ausa for the fourth edition of “Il senso di ogni cosa” (“The meaning of everything”), the initiative promoted by the Secretariat of State for Tourism together with the Tourism Office and under the patronage of the Congress of State (Congresso di Stato). The day, dedicated to solidarity and children’s health, closed with a free concert by Fabrizio Moro.
“A great many people took part in a day devoted entirely to children and families, with games, entertainment and moments of reflection, made possible thanks to the contribution of numerous private sponsors and the invaluable commitment of volunteer associations,” reads the statement from the Secretariat of State for Tourism.
The event also had a concrete goal through a fundraising campaign in support of InSiamo and Oceano Blu. The former association supports research and the families of children affected by onco-hematological conditions, while Oceano Blu focuses on rare diseases and scientific research, with particular attention to the CAMK2B genetic disorder.
“Talking about children’s health means talking about the future. Research in pediatric onco-hematology is the beating heart of this commitment: without research there is no cure, without a cure there is no hope. Every act of solidarity, every contribution raised, becomes a seed of knowledge and a concrete possibility for new therapies,” the statement emphasizes.
One of the day’s central moments was the talk “Oltre la cura” (“Beyond the cure”), moderated by Simona Ventura, during which doctors, volunteers and association representatives discussed pediatric oncology and children’s health.
Speakers on stage included Andrea Cecchetti and Andrea Nardoni, presidents of InSiamo and Oceano Blu respectively, the director of the Pediatrics Unit (UOC Pediatria) Nicola Ranieri, the president of San Marino’s Order of Psychologists Massimiliano Vandi, Francesco Pio Tarantino, known as “Spiderman in corsia” (“Spiderman on the ward”), and Eleonora Marcolini of the VIP San Marino Nasi Rossi association.
The event also featured the presentation of the book “Martina il cuore e la rosa” (“Martina, the heart and the rose”), written by Giovanna Pupillo and Riccardo Caniato and dedicated to the story of Martina, a young girl who died prematurely of cancer.
The day closed with Fabrizio Moro, who took the stage as part of his “Non ho paura di niente” tour. The concert was also attended by the Captains Regent, Alice Mina and Vladimiro Selva.
“Il senso di ogni cosa shows that when the community comes together around a common goal, solidarity becomes concrete strength and hope for the future,” says the Secretary of State for Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati. “Seeing Parco Ausa transformed into a place of celebration and reflection, with the participation of families, associations and citizens, is proof that together we can face even the most difficult challenges.”
Pedini Amati went on to reflect on the meaning of the event: “Today, we find the meaning of everything in the eyes of children, in the strength of families facing difficult journeys, in the generosity of those who chose to be here and support this cause. It is a meaning built together, step by step, with the lightness of play and the depth of solidarity.”
“We often grasp the deeper meaning of life through pain, hardship and illness. Sometimes illness can make us feel alone, and it is by sharing that we find unexpected resources — that is where we want to start from,” the Secretary for Tourism concludes.
