Giro d’Italia 2027: fourth stage to finish at Misano circuit

The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli will host the finish of stage four on 11 May, bringing the Giro to Romagna's Riviera.

The Giro d’Italia 2027 will make a stop on the Romagna Riviera with a finish at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The date is set for Tuesday 11 May, when the fourth stage of the “corsa rosa” (the pink race), setting off from Argenta in the province of Ferrara, will conclude on the track normally reserved for motor racing.

The news was announced on Tuesday 3 November in Rome, during the official presentation of the route. The stage will cross largely flat terrain, with characteristics that could favour a sprint finish.

For Misano and the Riviera, it will be an important opportunity for international visibility, as the circuit named after Marco Simoncelli hosts, for one day, the stars of top-level cycling.

The Giro’s arrival will come just days before the Granfondo Squali, scheduled in Cattolica from 14 to 16 May. The area’s cycling calendar will also include the Riccione Cycling event on 21 March and the Italian Bike Festival, set to take place from 3 to 5 September, again at the Misano circuit.

The president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Michele de Pascale, and the regional councillor for Tourism and Sport, Roberta Frisoni, expressed satisfaction, highlighting the promotional value of the event.

“The finish at the Misano circuit shows how our facilities can open up to different disciplines and audiences, strengthening the link between sport and tourism promotion,” they stated.

The Giro’s return also coincides with the growth of cycling tourism in Emilia-Romagna. According to regional data, in 2026 overnight stays linked to bicycle holidays rose by 5%, with an average occupancy rate of 68% in specialised facilities.

About two out of three tourists come from abroad, while the average length of stay reaches five days, compared with 3.5 days for traditional tourism.

The region currently has around 100 Bike Hotels and another 200 accommodation facilities equipped for cyclists — a sector that is also expected to benefit from the international visibility generated by the Giro d’Italia.
