The science laboratory was left in ruins, with windows smashed and fire extinguishers emptied, at the Pazzini middle school in Villa Verucchio. The raid took place overnight between October 31 and November 1, inside the building on Via Tenuta.
A large group of youths, believed to be minors, reportedly broke into the premises. Fires were lit inside the building, while outside, recently planted trees were uprooted.
The damage affects several rooms and furnishings throughout the school. Carabinieri from the Villa Verucchio station are reviewing footage from the school’s security cameras and those in the surrounding area in an effort to identify those responsible.
The Municipality of Verucchio described the incident as “an extremely serious and unacceptable act,” pledging to restore safety and full functionality to the affected areas as quickly as possible.
The local administration also issued an appeal to young people and their families, calling for respect toward public property and urging accountability for what occurred.
