With the Coppa Titano round of 16 now behind them, the San Marino championship returns to action for matchday seven, with all eyes on Sunday’s clash between Folgore and Tre Penne. Kicking off at 3pm in Montecchio, the head-to-head meeting could reshape the balance of power at the top of the table.
Folgore lead the league with a perfect record and have also won every match in the cup so far. Michael Ricci’s side boast the tournament’s best attack, spearheaded by Pancotti and Augusto Garcia Rufer, both on four goals.
Tre Penne sit two points behind and are aiming to leapfrog the leaders. Fresh off a 0-0 draw against Tre Fiori, the blue-and-whites possess one of the league’s tightest defences, having conceded just two goals — a record they share with Virtus.
Virtus themselves will be looking to capitalise on the head-to-head clash to close the gap on their rivals. Level on points with Tre Penne, the black-and-greens face Domagnano on Saturday at 3pm. Muratori’s side arrive on the back of five straight league wins, while the yellow-and-reds haven’t picked up three points since September 4.
The round actually kicks off on Friday, October 30 at 9.15pm with Cailungo hosting Juvenes Dogana, the only evening fixture. Both sides were knocked out of the cup and will be chasing points to climb the table. The match will be broadcast on Titani.tv and FIFA+.
Saturday also features Tre Fiori against Murata. The reigning champions, who thrashed Fiorentino 5-0 in the cup, sit five points off the top and cannot afford any further slip-ups.
The situation is equally delicate for La Fiorita, sixth and eight points adrift of Folgore. The yellow-and-blues will take on Libertas, a side that has already given the league leaders trouble both in the league and in the cup.
Saturday’s programme is rounded off by Pennarossa-San Marino Academy, with the red-and-whites coming off a cup win over Cailungo, while the Academy are still searching for their first victory of the season.
On Sunday, alongside Folgore-Tre Penne, Cosmos will face Fiorentino and San Giovanni will take on Faetano. Cosmos arrive on the back of four consecutive wins, relying heavily on the Guidotti-Cremonini partnership: the former is the league’s top scorer with six goals, while the latter has already racked up five goals and as many assists.
Finally, a tightly contested match is expected between San Giovanni and Faetano, separated by just a single point in the standings. The red-and-blacks will have to do without the suspended Zanni.
