A goal-fest to stay on top, a win built in the second half, and a last-gasp turnaround. Folgore, La Fiorita and Libertas all claimed three points, but through very different evenings.
Folgore beat Pennarossa 5-1 and remain ahead of the pack. Tre Penne, in action on Sunday against Domagnano, could draw level on points but not overtake them.
The start of the match, however, belonged to Pennarossa: after a quarter of an hour, Belward opened the scoring with a solo effort, dribbling past two defenders and slotting the ball into the far corner.
The league leaders’ response came in the 26th minute through Pierri, who headed in a cross from Fabbri. Shortly after, Adami Martins completed the comeback from a corner kick.
Before the break, Folgore pulled away: Augusto Garcia Rufer made it 3-1, deflecting in a free kick from his brother Azael, before Raschi converted another assist from Fabbri for the fourth goal.
Early in the second half, Pancotti sealed the result, finishing off a one-two with Augusto. Pennarossa had a chance to pull one back from the penalty spot, but De Angelis saved Belward’s effort and then denied Maltoni’s follow-up attempt as well.
It was a bitter finish for Cailungo, beaten 2-1 by Libertas in the 93rd minute. The green-and-reds went ahead in the 38th minute through Cecconi, who was on hand to tap in after Foiera parried a shot from Bua.
Libertas hit the woodwork twice, first through Gregorio and then Greco, while also having to contend with several saves from Filippo Tordella. The equaliser came in the 79th minute: Greco pounced on a defensive clearance and fired home.
In stoppage time, Cailungo had two further chances through Bua, both denied by Foiera. Then came the sucker punch: a cross from Melandri, a touch from Osayande, and Greco completed his brace to turn the match on its head.
Libertas move up to 8 points, while Cailungo remain on 3.
La Fiorita, meanwhile, beat Murata 3-0, earning a second win under new coach Andy Selva. After a first half full of chances but no goals, it was Bonetti who broke the deadlock.
In the 50th minute, the forward won back possession in his own half, held off his markers and rounded off the run by beating the advancing goalkeeper: it was his first goal in the yellow-and-blue shirt.
Bonetti then doubled the lead, shaking off two defenders before curling a left-footed shot into the corner. Serges rounded off the 3-0 scoreline in stoppage time, pouncing on a rebound after a shot from Zafferani.
La Fiorita temporarily draw level with Tre Fiori, who have yet to take the field.
