Dogana, work begins on Saponaia wall along the Ausa stream

Long-awaited repair works on the collapsed riverbank wall aim to boost flood safety and restore proper water flow.

Work has begun in Dogana to repair the “Saponaia” wall along the Ausa stream. The long-awaited project was launched by the State Secretariat for Territory and Environment together with AASLP (the state agency for public works and planning).

The project involves building a check dam and rebuilding the riverbank wall, which had collapsed some time ago and had become an obstacle to the normal flow of water — a situation considered especially critical during periods of flooding.

The goal is therefore to improve hydraulic safety in the area and reduce the risk of flooding, while restoring full functionality to this stretch of the Ausa.

According to the State Secretariat for Territory and Environment, the works are expected to be completed next week, with the affected section fully secured.
