A significant confirmation and a fresh addition complete another piece of the Titans’ puzzle ahead of the 2026/2027 season. Pallacanestro Titano has officially confirmed the continued presence of Francesco Fusco, by now one of the cornerstones of the Sammarinese side, alongside the arrival of Alberto Capelli, a 2006-born guard who spent last season with Dolphins Riccione in Divisione Regionale 1.
The two moves come just ahead of the start of pre-season training and help shape the roster that will be entrusted to the new coaching staff led by head coach Amadori and assistant Pasquini.
For Fusco, it marks the continuation of a relationship that began in January 2022. A versatile forward who has spent several years now in a Titans jersey, the player returns with the added motivation of erasing the bitterness of last season’s playoff exit against Santarcangelo.
“There’s a huge desire to get back with my teammates, to train, to relive those moments in the locker room and on the court. Especially after how last season ended,” says Fusco. “We had shown we could be the wildcard of the league and, particularly in the second half of the season, we managed to impose our style of play.”
The end of last season left some regrets, not least because Fusco was hampered by a muscle injury right in the decisive phase of the Santarcangelo match. “Going out of the playoffs like that, in two games, because of missed chances and events beyond our control, always stings. Especially for me, since I couldn’t play that final stretch of the game because of a muscle problem. The hunger for redemption is enormous.”
The player is confident about the new-look team. “It’s a squad built meticulously, down to the smallest detail — every single addition has been targeted. The coaching staff has also changed, with two young guys like head coach Amadori and assistant Pasquini. We’re a tight-knit group, we already know each other very well, and with the right chemistry we can certainly achieve some great results.”
The season will also mark the Titans’ return to the Emilia-Romagna group, which Fusco expects to be particularly competitive. “It’ll be a physical and technical league, with some teams strengthened by players from Serie B and others that have been in Serie C for years. Competition will be tough, but it’ll be up to us to show we have plenty to offer.”
The goal remains to aim as high as possible. “I want to try to be a real asset for the team and for the younger players. As for the team’s target? Do the best we can, aiming high. Then it’s up to the court to have the final word.”
Alongside Fusco’s confirmed return comes a new face: Alberto Capelli. Born in 2006, the 1.94-metre guard joins from Dolphins Riccione after a season in which he averaged 7.9 points in Dr1 and 23.2 in the Under-19 Gold category.
“I’m really happy to wear this jersey,” were Capelli’s first words as a Titans player. “Playing for this club is very exciting for me, and I can’t wait to get involved and give my best contribution to the team, putting all my abilities to use.”
Settling into the group should be made easier by the presence of several familiar faces. “I already know quite a few members of the team, some personally, others from having played against them in friendlies over the years. I also know coach Michi very well — he started coaching me during my early youth years, and I’m really pleased to be working with him again.”
Capelli, too, expects a high-level championship: “I think it’ll be very competitive. The group is really tough, which is why the goal is to work hard and grow as a team so we can achieve as much satisfaction as possible by giving everything we’ve got.”
With Fusco still at the heart of the project and Capelli’s arrival, Pallacanestro Titano’s roster is edging closer to its final shape, as the start of pre-season for the new campaign draws near for the Titans.
