Seven people were taken to the emergency room — three of them in critical condition — along with the owner of the establishment, following a violent brawl that broke out at dawn on Sunday, August 2, in a venue in Marina Centro, Rimini.
According to initial reports, at around 5:30 a.m. two groups of North African nationals began arguing heatedly before the situation quickly escalated. Within moments, the venue and a stretch of Viale Vespucci turned into a scene of chaos, with bottles, chairs and hookah pipes hurled during the clash, which involved numerous people.
The owner of the venue was also injured while trying to restore calm, struck violently in the face as he attempted to separate those involved in the fight.
Officers from the Rimini Police Headquarters’ patrol units (Volanti) and several ambulances from the 118 emergency service responded to the scene, treating the wounded and bringing the situation back under control. Despite the severity of some injuries, none of those involved is in life-threatening condition.
The investigation has been assigned to the Flying Squad (Squadra Mobile), which is working to reconstruct the exact sequence of events and determine the responsibilities of those involved. At this stage, all individuals implicated are under investigation for aggravated brawling.
