Council gives unanimous green light to Pascucci as new university rector

Grand and General Council unanimously approves Paolo Pascucci as head of San Marino's University for the next three years, succeeding Corrado Petrocelli.

The Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale) has unanimously approved the appointment of Paolo Pascucci as Rector of the University of the Republic of San Marino for the upcoming three-year term. The choice had already been approved, also unanimously, by the Academic Senate on 23 July.

Pascucci will succeed Corrado Petrocelli, whom the Government and council groups thanked for his work over the years, a period marked by the growth of the University and the consolidation of the accreditation of San Marino’s higher education system.

During the debate, the issue of university autonomy was also discussed, while the Secretary of State for Education, Teodoro Lonfernini, identified the strengthening of the University’s so-called “third mission” as one of the goals of the new rectorship.
