Two cars collided on the expressway, leaving a young woman injured and traffic at a standstill. It was an eventful Saturday morning, October 31, in Domagnano, where two vehicles bearing San Marino plates were involved in an accident while both were travelling in the uphill direction. The impact was quite violent, leaving both vehicles heavily damaged and disrupting traffic flow.
The bodywork bore the brunt of the collision. One of the two cars had its rear windscreen shattered and its bumper damaged, while the other ended up with its front end almost completely destroyed. The crash caused the road to be temporarily closed, resulting in queues and slowdowns along the expressway.
Civil Police officers responded to the scene to carry out an investigation into the circumstances of the crash, alongside paramedics from the 118 emergency service. Fortunately, the outcome was relatively contained: the only person injured was a 28-year-old San Marino woman, who sustained injuries expected to heal within five days.
Once rescue operations and the on-site investigation were completed, the vehicle left blocking the carriageway was removed, allowing the road to reopen and traffic to return to normal.
