Cattolica, 26-year-old stabbed by two girls as he closes bar: manhunt underway

A young bartender was hospitalised after being stabbed in the abdomen and leg late on Thursday; the attackers fled and are still being sought.

Attacked with a knife by two girls as he was getting ready to close the bar where he works. A 26-year-old man ended up in hospital late on Thursday evening, October 29, in Cattolica, after being struck by several blows to the abdomen and a leg.

The incident took place around 11pm, near a venue in Largo della Pace. The young man, who was alone at the time, was approached by the two girls — one of whom, or possibly both, was armed with a small knife — and was stabbed before the attackers fled, disappearing without a trace.

Emergency medical personnel and the Carabinieri responded to the scene. The 26-year-old was taken to the Infermi Hospital in Rimini, where he remains admitted with superficial wounds. His condition is not considered serious and his life is not believed to be in danger.

Investigations are underway to identify the two girls and determine the motive behind the attack. Officers have obtained footage from CCTV cameras in the area in search of useful evidence to reconstruct what happened.

It remains unclear what triggered the violence and whether the 26-year-old and the two young women knew each other beforehand.
