Three inaugurations for Borgo Maggiore, spanning local produce, accessibility and new spaces for the community. The State Secretariat for Territory and the Environment drew up the balance sheet for Sunday, 6 September, expressing satisfaction also with the results of the “Dalla Terra alla Tavola” (“From the Land to the Table”) project, born from the collaboration between the restaurant sector and the Consorzio Terra di San Marino.
The Secretariat described it as “a genuine team effort between the restaurant world and the Consorzio Terra di San Marino” and an initiative that “has succeeded in concretely showcasing the agri-food excellence of our territory and, given its great success, deserves to continue over time“. Thanks were extended to USOT and the Consorzio Terra di San Marino for their work promoting the agri-food sector, described as “a constant commitment that is bearing concrete and visible fruit for the entire San Marino community“.
Sunday, which marked the conclusion of the “Dal turista al contadino” (“From Tourist to Farmer”) event, was marked by the opening of three new spaces. The first is the “Dalla Terra alla Tavola” shop run by the Consorzio Terra di San Marino, housed inside the cable car building and dedicated to the Republic’s products and excellences.
Also brought into service was the new lift connecting the Campo della Fiera car park and the cable car station with Via Oddone Scarito and the historic centre of Borgo Maggiore. The project aims to make access to the area easier for both residents and visitors.
The third inauguration concerned the Cantinetta di Borgo Maggiore, a new space in the heart of the Castello dedicated to the community and to those who frequent the historic centre daily. The statement also highlighted the role of the Borgo Maggiore Castle Council (Giunta di Castello), which “played an active part in this process“.
The programme closed with a DJ set inside the cable car, an initiative the Secretariat described as “a strong, youthful calling card, for the people of San Marino and for those observing us from outside“, thanking Dragon Valley and Rinascita Culturale for their contribution.
“Teamwork, involvement, clear objectives, perspective and vision: when there’s a will, things get done together and succeed,” concluded the State Secretariat for Territory and the Environment in summing up the initiatives.
