San Marino is taking part in the 9th European Civil Protection Forum, which opened today at the Tour & Taxis congress centre in Brussels. The event brings together institutional representatives, rescue workers and researchers around the theme “Preparing today, ready for tomorrow”.

The Sammarinese delegation, led by the Secretariat of State for Territory, includes Andrea Silvagni, the head of the Civil Protection Department Pietro Falcioni, inspector Athos Gattei of the Fire and Civil Protection Section of the Civil Police, and the president of the Volunteers’ Union Piermarino Bedetti.

The sessions, held on 3 and 4 November, focus on emerging risks, innovation, partnerships and funding. The programme includes the Civil Protection Village, dedicated to technological solutions, and marks the 25th anniversary of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

San Marino’s participation aims to strengthen European cooperation in emergency prevention and response, through the exchange of experience and discussion on climate and security challenges.
