Virtus returned to winning ways after three matches without a victory, climbing into seventh place. In the delayed fixture closing out the seventh round, Michelotti’s side beat San Giovanni 4-0, dropping Domagnano down to ninth position.
The black-and-greens draw level with Juvenes Dogana on points, but edge ahead thanks to a better goal difference. Since their last win on matchday two, they had managed only a single draw.
San Giovanni held firm throughout the first half before conceding early in the second. Dolcini opened the scoring, Belloni doubled the lead and then struck again in the 54th minute to complete his personal hat-trick for the team.
Just minutes later, Viggiani rounded off the rout, sealing the 4-0 scoreline.
The red-and-blacks were unable to build on their derby win and remain alone in second-to-last place, after Tre Penne’s victory in Monday’s match.
