The San Marino community will have the chance to contribute to the study for a new coat of arms for the Captains Regent. The University of San Marino has launched an online questionnaire to gather ideas, preferences and perceptions about the institution and its symbols.
Participation is anonymous and open until the end of November. Completing the survey takes about five minutes and includes images to evaluate, multiple-choice questions and open-ended queries.
The research is being carried out by the University’s Research Unit in Design for Cultural and Community Heritage. The goal is to develop a proposal consistent with the historical, symbolic and institutional values of the Republic.
The questionnaire is part of a broader project already underway, which includes the collection and study of coats of arms used over time. Researchers have examined examples found in institutional buildings, documents, works of art and coins, through site visits and research in San Marino’s archives and museums.
