Alleanza Riformista has expressed satisfaction over the approval of a law introducing tax incentives to support sporting events, sports facilities and the enhancement of San Marino’s public real estate.
The measure, approved in second reading by the Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale) on Thursday 22 October, aims to encourage private investment in projects of collective interest.
The political movement particularly highlights the work carried out by Secretary of State Rossano Fabbri, to whom it attributes a central role in shaping the legislation.
“This is a deeply satisfying result for Alleanza Riformista, the fruit of the vision and initiative of Secretary of State Rossano Fabbri, who has managed to turn his commitment to our country into concrete tools, particularly for the growth and development of San Marino sport,” reads the statement released by the movement.
The new law provides tax relief to support sporting events, infrastructure and improvements to state-owned properties, with the aim of encouraging private parties to help finance and carry out such projects.
“With this law, tax incentives are introduced to support sports facilities, sporting events and works on the state’s real estate assets, creating new opportunities to involve private resources in projects of collective interest.
The measure strengthens the role of institutions in promoting initiatives and in putting those who wish to contribute to the Republic’s growth in a position to do so,” Alleanza Riformista stresses.
According to the movement, investment in sport can also benefit other sectors of San Marino’s economy, starting with tourism and the commercial activities linked to organising events.
“Sport is not just competition.
It is a strategic lever that combines health, education, inclusion and international promotion.
Support for sporting events and the strengthening of sports facilities and infrastructure boost San Marino’s ability to generate opportunities for tourism, trade, hospitality and services, with positive effects on the entire economic and social fabric.”
Another point Alleanza Riformista draws attention to concerns the extension of the incentives to the entire public real estate portfolio, a choice that, according to the movement, will broaden the possibilities for recovering and upgrading state-owned buildings.
“Having extended the measure to cover all public real estate takes on even greater significance, as it widens the scope for restoring and enhancing assets belonging to the community, placing public-private cooperation at the service of the country’s development, in keeping with transparency and the general interest.”
In the closing part of the statement, Alleanza Riformista links the law’s approval to its own vision of government action, stressing the need to encourage investment and cooperation among institutions, citizens and businesses.
“For Alleanza Riformista, governing means taking on the responsibility of creating the conditions for the country’s growth, through choices that look beyond the immediate moment.
This law reflects a vision in which institutions guide development and the participation of citizens and businesses helps achieve shared goals.
It is this ability to bring together public initiative, private responsibility and collective interest that builds a stronger Republic, capable of offering new opportunities to today’s generations and to those of tomorrow.”
