The popular initiative bill on fibromyalgia remains on the table of Committee IV, though time will still need to be found to begin its examination. That was the update given today by the Secretary of State for Health, Massimo Andrea Ugolini, speaking during the joint session of Council Committees II and IV in response to a question from Councillor Gaetano Troina.
The bill will need to be entered into the committee’s work schedule by its chairman, together with the relevant petitioners. Ugolini nonetheless assured lawmakers of the government’s willingness to contribute, including through technical analysis and assessments.
The goal, therefore, is to find room in Committee IV’s agenda to move the bill forward and continue the legislative process dedicated to fibromyalgia — a chronic condition marked chiefly by widespread pain, fatigue and other symptoms that can heavily affect sufferers’ daily lives.
