Two council committees will meet jointly to review the state of gender-based violence cases in San Marino. The session is scheduled for Monday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Kursaal Congress Centre, in a public sitting convened at the request of committee chairs Michele Muratori and Denise Bronzetti.
Meeting together will be the Foreign Affairs Committee — whose responsibilities also include security and public order — and the Health Committee, which also oversees welfare, social security and social policy.
At the heart of the morning’s proceedings will be a report from the State Congress on the latest available data regarding gender-based violence cases. The in-depth discussion follows the motion approved by the Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale) during its sitting on July 21.
After opening remarks, the two committees will examine the phenomenon in detail, along with the most recent figures available. Lawyer Monia Mazza will take part in the proceedings as an expert. Councillors who are not members of either committee will also be permitted to attend the session.
