The Association Agreement between San Marino and the European Union is once again at the centre of political debate. On Monday, 12 October, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kursaal Congress Centre, the Council’s Constitutional Affairs and Foreign Affairs committees will meet in a joint session.
The main item on the agenda will be the briefing by the Secretary of State for Internal Affairs and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs on the state of implementation of the initiatives and obligations arising from the Association Agreement.
The session follows up on the motion approved by the Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale) on 26 January 2026, which called for an update on the progress made by the Republic ahead of incorporating the agreement into San Marino’s legal system.
Following the reports from the two Secretaries of State, a debate among committee members will take place, offering an opportunity to take stock of activities already under way, those still to be completed, and the next steps in the European integration process.
The session, convened by chairs Oscar Mina and Michele Muratori, will be open to the public.
