Cosmos overwhelm Pennarossa as Folgore make it three wins from three

Paolo Rossi's side hammer Pennarossa 6-1, while Folgore edge Juvenes Dogana in the Serravalle derby to stay top of the table.

Cosmos run riot, while Folgore keep rolling. The third round of the San Marino Championship brought Paolo Rossi’s side their first win of the season, a resounding 6-1 victory over Pennarossa, while the club from Falciano got past Juvenes Dogana to remain on a perfect record.

Cosmos broke the deadlock through Lisi in the 15th minute, before Guidotti doubled the lead and Cremonini converted a penalty just before half-time. The yellow-and-greens kept pushing after the break: Guidotti and Cremonini both completed braces, and Tonini added a sixth goal. Pennarossa’s only reply came from Mema, while Evaristi missed a late penalty for the away side.

The Serravalle derby between Folgore and Juvenes Dogana was a tighter affair. Augusto Garcia Rufer put the Falciano side ahead, but the white-red-and-blues hit back to level at 1-1 before the interval. The match was settled in the 47th minute, when Fabbri headed home Azael Garcia Rufer’s corner to make it 2-1.

Juvenes Dogana tried to respond, coming close to an equaliser through Merli, but the score stayed the same. Folgore thus secured their third win in as many matches, remaining top of the table alongside Tre Fiori and Tre Penne.

Meanwhile, the match in Montecchio between Faetano and San Marino Academy ended goalless. The Titans picked up their second consecutive draw, though they largely have Amici to thank, with the goalkeeper denying chances created by Golinucci, Rivas and Elia. Late on, the Academy protested for a challenge between Ciacci and Tugliani in the box, but the referee waved play on: a 0-0 draw and a point apiece.
