Wednesday night’s three rescheduled matches complete the first leg of the round of 16 in the 2026-27 Coppa Titano. Virtus and Pennarossa put themselves in a commanding position with two 3-0 victories, while Folgore came away from Libertas with a 2-0 win.
Virtus produced a clear-cut win over Murata. The black-and-greens took control of the match from the start, with the ever-reliable Piscitella once again proving decisive. After Amati struck the crossbar in the 28th minute, the opener arrived five minutes later: Piscitella combined with Buonocunto just outside the box and beat Suzzi at the near post. Less than four minutes later, Piscitella struck again, arriving at the far post to convert Gjoni’s cross for the second goal. Before the break, the winger nearly completed his hat-trick, only to be denied by the goalkeeper.
Virtus effectively settled the match at the start of the second half. From an Amati corner, Blanco headed home to make it 3-0. Murata tried to respond and came close in the 75th minute through Alessandro Baldazzi, whose header struck the post. There was a brief scare late on for Suzzi following a collision with Gjoni, though he was unharmed. The 3-0 result leaves Virtus one step away from the quarter-finals.
Folgore also secured a away win, defeating Libertas 2-0 in a match in which the yellow-red-and-blacks did most of their attacking in the first half. Ura and Pancotti caused early trouble for the home defense, while in the 35th minute Melandri came close with an audacious long-range effort that cleared De Angelis but bounced just over the crossbar.
Folgore broke through in the 41st minute. Fabbri struck the post from a corner, and Toure was the quickest to react, netting the rebound to make it 0-1. The second goal came in the 51st minute through Augusto Garcia Rufer, who capitalized on Fabbri’s long pass and beat Gueye from a tight angle. Libertas grew into the game over the final half-hour and came agonizingly close to scoring through Melandri, whose effort was denied by the post in the 71st minute. Folgore held firm, taking home a two-goal advantage ahead of the second leg.
In Acquaviva, meanwhile, it was Pennarossa who celebrated, beating Cailungo 3-0. Abouzzine opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a simple finish following Calderone’s run and Tordella’s intervention. Cailungo’s situation worsened further in the 34th minute, when Bua was sent off for a strike away from the ball, spotted by the referee. Before the break, Quaranta made a goal-line clearance to deny Maltoni, while Marconi wasted a good chance to extend the lead.
Despite being down to ten men, Cailungo tried to fight back in the second half through Bernardi and Conti. However, Pennarossa exploited the space on offer, and in the 70th minute made it 2-0 through Belward, who drove forward before beating Tordella at the near post with his left foot. The third goal followed in the 85th minute: Marco Evaristi set up Arba, who lifted the ball over the goalkeeper. In stoppage time, Cailungo were reduced to nine men after Tordella was shown a straight red card, dismissed for slapping an opponent on the back of the neck while play was stopped.
The full picture from the first legs of the round of 16 reads as follows: Cosmos-San Giovanni 1-0, Domagnano-Faetano 3-1, Tre Fiori-Fiorentino 1-0, Tre Penne-Juvenes Dogana 2-1, Pennarossa-Cailungo 3-0, Folgore-Libertas 2-0 and Virtus-Murata 3-0. The final verdicts will be decided in the return legs.
