San Marino renews scheme to help student-athletes balance school and sport

Continuing to compete at a high level without falling behind at school. That is the goal of the renewed agreement in San Marino designed to support students who, alongside their studies, pursue a demanding competitive sporting career.

The new agreement, valid for the 2026-2027 school year, was signed by CONS (San Marino National Olympic Committee) president Christian Forcellini and the director of the Department of Education and Culture, Emanuele D’Amelio. The signing took place at the headquarters of the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture.

The project is now in its third year and introduces several adjustments based on lessons learned from the first two editions. The aim is to make training sessions, competitions and school commitments increasingly compatible, through closer cooperation between the world of sport and the education system. At the heart of the initiative remains the path of young people, who are called upon to build their academic education and sporting career at the same time.
