Virtus came from behind to beat Tre Fiori, winning the standout match of matchday four and taking, at least for one night, the lead in the Sammarinese Championship. The game at Dogana ended 3-2 after a contest packed with goals and twists.
Tre Fiori started strongly and went ahead after just three minutes through Rea, who headed home a free kick from Sami. The black-and-greens responded in the 33rd minute: from a Buonocunto corner, former player De Lucia made it 1-1. In the second half, Virtus completed the turnaround thanks to an unfortunate own goal by Nardi, who was struck by the ball after it came back off the crossbar following a shot from Ciacci.
Two minutes later, Gjoni made it 3-1 with a superb right-footed strike from 25 metres. Tre Fiori refused to give up and pulled one back in the 89th minute through Prandelli, but there was no time left to find an equalizer. Virtus held on for the three points, ending the reigning champions’ unbeaten league run, which had lasted almost seven months.
At the “Federico Crescentini” stadium, meanwhile, Libertas and Faetano drew 1-1. The home side hit the woodwork twice through Socciarelli and Greco, but it was the yellow-and-blues who took the lead in the 25th minute through Elia, set up by Tugliani. Libertas kept pushing and equalized in the 74th minute through Cristiani, who arrived on time at the back post. In the closing stages, both sides had chances to win it, but Venturini and Foiera preserved the draw.
Finally, Cosmos claimed an away win, beating Murata 2-0 to secure their second consecutive victory. After squandering several chances, the yellow-and-greens broke the deadlock in the 70th minute through Cremonini, who volleyed home Ulloa’s cross. Late on, Lisi sealed the result, capitalizing on the space left open by Murata’s defense.
