Vacuum-sealed drugs and almost €16,000 in cash: man arrested in Rimini

Police found marijuana, hashish, ecstasy and sealed packets of cash in a Marina Centro apartment after reports of suspected drug dealing.

About 2.6 kilograms of marijuana and hashish, along with €15,900 in cash, were found in an apartment in Marina Centro. That was the discovery made by Rimini’s Flying Squad (Squadra Mobile) during a search triggered by reports of suspected drug dealing in the area. A man in his thirties was arrested as a result.

Before entering the apartment, investigators monitored the building for some time, observing people arriving, staying only a few minutes, and then leaving again — a pattern of comings and goings that prompted officers to search the premises.

Inside, they found numerous packets of marijuana, some already divided into doses and vacuum-sealed, along with hashish and five ecstasy tablets. Also seized were a vacuum-sealing machine, a precision scale, and bags of various sizes believed to have been used to prepare the drugs for sale.

The cash was split into banknotes of different denominations and, according to investigators, is believed to be linked to drug trafficking. Around 200 doping-substance pills were also found in the apartment.

The 30-year-old was arrested on charges of drug possession with intent to sell and was also reported for receiving stolen goods in connection with the pills found in his possession. He has been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities for a fast-track trial.
