Davide Carattoni and Lorenzo Cevenini won the Promodified category in the round of the Italian trial 4×4 championship held over the weekend of 18-19 September. It was the standout result of a busy weekend for Scuderia San Marino, which was also active in rallying, on the track, in drift competitions and in karting.
At the Rally del Lazio Cassino, Giacomo Marchioro, with co-driver Daniele Conti, finished 18th overall, a result that moves him up to fifth place in the Italian Junior Championship standings. On the track, Giacomo Altoè came fourth in the GTD category of the IMSA championship. Paolo and Davide Meloni took tenth place in the Pro-AM category of GT4, while Lorenzo Cheli finished twelfth in the Porsche Cup; both crews retired from their respective second races. At the Estoril Classic in Portugal, Marco Bianchini finished ninth in both races.
In drift, Marco Scarponi placed fifth overall in the National Series round in Brescia. In karting, at Ala di Trento, Daniel Giliberti and Alessandro Pedini Amati finished sixth and eighth respectively in the DD2 class, keeping the category title race wide open. Nicolas Tagliaferri finished thirteenth among the Seniors.
Attention now turns to the Rally Elba Storico. In the event, which counts towards the Italian Historic Rally Car Championship, Nicolò Fedolfi with Gabriele Ciabatti, Alessandro Fedolfi with Alessandro Podeschi, and Andrea Machetti with Fabio Agostini will all be on the start list. The event will also award points for the European Historic Championship: among the pre-1992 cars will be Renato Travaglia and San Marino driver Mirco Gabrielli, while in the pre-2000 class Nicholas Ciacci and Giovanna Francini will be competing.
On the speed front, Mattia Drudi will be racing in Japan in the WEC’s 6 Hours of Fuji, while Squadra Corse SM will compete in the 4 Hours of Misanino.
