San Marino crushes Bologna, semifinal to be decided in game 7

Titans dominate 5-0 to force decisive game as series is tied 3-3

San Marino Baseball leaves no room for error in game 6. The Titans cruised to a commanding 5-0 win over Fortitudo Bologna, levelling the semifinal series at 3-3 and setting up a winner-takes-all game 7, scheduled for Monday evening at 8 pm.

The star of the night was Francisco Sanchez, who delivered eight outstanding innings, allowing just three hits and striking out ten batters over 124 pitches. San Marino’s offense also played a key role, putting together eight hits, including two home runs from Rifaela and Lino.

San Marino took the lead in the third inning thanks to back-to-back doubles from Martini and Wong, making it 1-0. In the fourth, a solo homer from Rifaela extended the advantage to 2-0, while Sanchez kept Bologna’s hitters firmly in check.

The game swung decisively in the Titans’ favor in the final innings. In the seventh, Diaz drew a walk, stole second and scored on a single by Marlin. In the eighth, it was Lino who sealed the win with a two-run homer, making it 5-0.

After eight strong innings, Sanchez handed the mound to Eric Mendez, who closed out the ninth without allowing a baserunner. San Marino completed the shutout, keeping their hopes of reaching the final very much alive.

Everything will now be decided in game 7: on Monday evening, San Marino and Bologna will battle it out for the season in a single, winner-takes-all match.
