Rimini, crash on the Statale 16: 48-year-old motorcyclist dies

A motorcyclist lost his life late on Thursday near Rimini when his Ducati hit a central reservation curb and road signage.

A 48-year-old motorcyclist lost his life late on Thursday, October 8, on the Adriatic state road (Statale Adriatica) in Rimini.

The man was riding a Ducati toward Ravenna when the crash occurred near the Valentini roundabout.

According to initial reconstructions, the motorcycle struck the curb of the central reservation on the left before colliding with road signage.

The 48-year-old was thrown into the inner area of the roundabout. The Ducati, meanwhile, crossed the roundabout and came to a stop against the guardrail.

Emergency medical teams from 118 rushed to the scene, but the injuries sustained in the impact proved fatal.

The traffic police (Polizia Stradale) carried out an investigation at the site. The causes of the accident have yet to be clarified, with the vehicle’s speed among the factors under review.
