A 48-year-old motorcyclist lost his life late on Thursday, October 8, on the Adriatic State Road (Statale Adriatica) in Rimini.
The man was riding a Ducati toward Ravenna when the crash occurred near the Valentini roundabout.
According to initial reconstructions, the motorcycle struck the curb of the central median on the left before colliding with road signage.
The 48-year-old was thrown into the inner area of the roundabout, while the Ducati continued across the junction before coming to a stop against the guardrail.
Emergency medical teams from 118 rushed to the scene, but the injuries sustained in the impact proved fatal.
The Traffic Police (Polizia Stradale) carried out an inspection of the site. The causes of the accident have yet to be established, with investigators also examining whether speed played a role.
