From the track to shaping the future leadership of European athletics. Rebecca Guidi took part in Birmingham in the 2026 edition of European Athletics’ Future Leaders programme, this time in the role of Facilitator.
The initiative, held from 12 to 17 August alongside the European Championships, brought together more than 65 young people from 44 European federations for workshops and meetings aimed at training the sport’s future leadership class.
Guidi mentored participants as a tutor and also worked within the Communication & Social Media team. Thanks to her involvement, San Marino returned to the project with Beatrice Berti, chosen as the Sammarinese representative at the Forum.
During the week, participants also had the opportunity to engage with European Athletics president Dobromir Karamarinov and World Athletics president Sebastian Coe.
«It was a week during which we worked from morning to night, but it was also an immense source of satisfaction. Becoming part of major organisations like European Athletics, while representing a small state like San Marino, is something that makes me particularly proud», says Guidi.
This is a path that continues alongside her competitive activity with the San Marino Athletics Federation, opening up new opportunities beyond the track, in the fields of training and international relations.
