It will be the Sammarinese Futsal Championship that officially opens the 2026-27 season. The Supercoppa will have to wait: its date is still to be defined and depends on the completion of work on the Futsal Arena. The first certainty came instead from the fixture draw, held at the Casa del Calcio in Montecchio.
The championship will kick off in mid-September, earlier than in recent seasons, with the opening round expected to be spread across three different evenings.
A tricky opening test awaits defending champions Murata, who, after their European exertions, will begin the defence of their title against Folgore. Virtus, runners-up last season, will instead open their campaign against Cosmos.
The first round will also feature two derbies: Tre Fiori-Fiorentino and Libertas-Cailungo. On paper, the season openers for Domagnano and Juvenes Dogana also look demanding. The Lupi will face Pennarossa, strengthened over the summer transfer window with the additions of Busignani and Protti, while Juvenes Dogana will take on La Fiorita, who have drawn some of their new signings directly from Virtus. San Giovanni will have a bye.
The draw was also an opportunity to review the regulatory changes for the new season. The most significant concerns the championship format: the Preliminary Round has been scrapped, and only the top eight teams from the regular season will now advance directly to the post-season.
The Titano Futsal Cup has also changed. No draw was held for the national cup, as the first-round pairings will instead be determined based on the championship standings at the end of the first half of the season.
Teams that win their two-legged ties will earn a place in the Final Eight. One spot, however, will go automatically to the team finishing top of the standings after the first half of the season — a change from the past, when direct qualification was reserved for the reigning cup holders.
One final piece of the calendar puzzle remains to be settled: the Sammarinese Supercoppa, whose scheduling will depend on the completion of work on the Futsal Arena. For once, then, it will be the league — not the cup — that kicks off the new season.
