San Marino gears up to celebrate Antonelli’s world title

Sports Secretary Rossano Fabbri promises a grand celebration for Kimi Antonelli, the F1 driver who has called San Marino home since 2024.

San Marino wants to celebrate Kimi Antonelli after his Formula 1 World Championship triumph. The Secretary of State for Sport, Rossano Fabbri, has announced plans to honour the driver, who has resided on the Titano since 2024.

“We can’t wait to see him again and celebrate him the way he deserves. We want to put together something truly special,” Fabbri told Il Resto del Carlino. The date and programme will be set once the champion’s schedule is confirmed.

Meanwhile, the victory was marked by cheers and toasts at the Rose’n Bowl, the venue regularly frequented by Antonelli. Around 200 people gathered to watch the Mexican Grand Prix, including fans, institutional representatives, friends from Bologna and former schoolmates.

Among the mementos on display was the banner some children had hung outside the driver’s home after his first Formula 1 win in Shanghai. Many of those present wore T-shirts bearing Kimi’s name and the number 12.
