Virtus have temporarily moved back to the top of the San Marino championship thanks to a 1-0 win over Domagnano. The seventh matchday continues on Sunday with the clash between Folgore and Tre Penne, which could once again shake up the standings.
The match in Acquaviva was decided by Piscitella, who finished a solo run with a right-footed shot inside the box. Domagnano stayed in the game thanks to several saves from Bracconi, who was decisive on multiple attempts by the black-and-greens.
Late on, Virtus lost De Lucia to a second yellow card and had to survive a header from Contadini: Guddo preserved the result, securing his side’s sixth consecutive victory. For Domagnano, it was their fourth defeat in the last five matches.
A single goal was also enough for Tre Fiori, who beat Murata to draw level with Tre Penne in third place. After several chances were denied by Olivieri, Dolcini latched onto a through ball from Bernardi in the 65th minute to make it 1-0.
Murata came close to equalizing late on: Brisigotti struck the post from a free kick, while Hassler fired wide from a promising position.
La Fiorita beat Libertas thanks to a strike from the edge of the box by Semprini in the 37th minute, assisted by Bonetti. Selva’s side, forced to cope with an injury to Tommaso Zafferani, also found a second goal through Nappello, though it was ruled out for offside.
Libertas squandered the chance to equalize through Melandri, who, after a save from Vivan, shot straight at Mazzotti from close range. The result marked La Fiorita’s third win in their last four matches.
Meanwhile, Pennarossa and San Marino Academy drew 1-1. The Academy created several chances after Abouzzine’s sending-off, but in the 81st minute a build-up error by Ciacci and Amici allowed Calderone to put Pennarossa ahead.
It was Ciacci himself who made amends late on, heading home the equalizer. Pennarossa finished the match with nine men after Guida picked up a second yellow card, while the Academy remain without a win.
