Piazzale Lo Stradone will be named after Federico Bigi. The process has now been finalized, and in the coming weeks it will move into the implementation phase, following up on the Arengo Petition (Istanza d’Arengo) submitted on 2 April 2023.
This was confirmed by the Secretary of State for Territory and the Environment, Matteo Ciacci, during the 30 September session of the Permanent Council Commission IV. The decision was agreed upon together with the City Castle Council (Giunta di Castello di Città).
The dedication is intended to honor a figure who left his mark on San Marino’s public life, linking his name to one of the most frequented spaces in the historic center and passing his memory on to future generations.
Marino Cecchetti, the petition’s first signatory, welcomed the confirmation, offering thanks also on behalf of the other signatories. More than three years after it was first submitted, the request is now moving toward implementation.
