Electrical short circuit at Poggio Torriana firm leaves two workers burned

A sudden flare-up from an electrical panel injured two men at the Myo company in Poggio Torriana on Thursday morning.

A sudden flare-up from an electrical panel struck two workers within moments. That is what happened on Thursday morning inside Myo of Poggio Torriana, a company specializing in stationery and office supplies.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. According to initial findings, the cause is believed to be a short circuit. The worst injured was a 39-year-old employee of an external firm carrying out maintenance work: he suffered burns to his hands and face and was taken to the Bufalini hospital in Cesena. He is not believed to be in danger of his life.

Also injured was a 36-year-old company employee, who was taken to the Infermi hospital in Rimini with burns to his scalp. Emergency medical teams, firefighters and the Carabinieri responded to the scene, while a rescue helicopter was also dispatched from Ravenna. Investigations are now underway to reconstruct exactly what happened.
